Frequently Asked Questions
What is MILO, in one sentence?
A pocket-sized beat machine — 40 backlit keys, 16 tracks, no screen, built around sample-based instruments you can play, record, and sequence entirely on the device.
Do I need a computer to use it?
No. Every part of making a song — picking instruments, sequencing, mixing, saving — happens on the device. A computer is only useful for firmware updates.
What sounds does it come with?
A built-in library of tonal and percussive instruments, ready to play out of the box. You can add more by copying samples onto the SD card, or record your own through the onboard microphone.
Can I record my own sounds?
Yes — hold the record key and MILO samples through its onboard mic. It automatically becomes a new playable instrument, tuned if it can detect a pitch.
How do I save and export my songs?
Use the “My MILO” web app on this website to export songs as WAV, MIDI or even as full Note Sheets
What’s the battery life?
MILO runs on a rechargeable battery that charges over USB-C. Expect at least several hours of non stop use — we’ll publish real numbers closer to launch.
Price and availability?

How do firmware updates work?
Straight from your browser — plug in over USB-C, open the Firmware Update page, and click through. No installer, no drivers. See the Firmware Update page for details.
